  • Signature Aero Fit = Fit EVALUATION + AERO TESTING

    The next generation of bike fit. Combining a position evaluation with aero testing in the field, each change is analyzed to insure its aerodynamic effectiveness while you, the athlete, assess the benefits while riding. This real world service takes you out of the static environment of both the fit studio and wind tunnel, and brings you into the real world. Real world testing = real world results. In fact, our data has shown to be a better predictor of time than any other type of aero testing.

    This service is broken up into two distinct sessions, one for position and another for equipment. These can be conducted on the same day, or two separate days (preferred).

Adding aero testing to your fit allows you to quantify every change we make. No matter what work is done indoors, you will ride differently outdoors. For aero positioning, each change to your position or equipment can alter your comfort, power, aerodynamic drag, and the metabolic cost. Only ERO can offer the unique knowledge and equipment necessary to measure and quantify position changes in a real world environment. You get to feel every change in the real world while we simultaneously measure the results.

Essential to our ability to offer this service is our access to the AeroLab AeroPro sensor. One of two sensors in the world capable of measuring wind speed with yaw (wind angle) effectively, ERO is one of the few North American users of the sensor which is otherwise not publicly available.

The AeroPro allows us to measure your aerodynamic drag as you ride in real world conditions. This provides the most accurate means of measuring your actual performance the way you naturally ride/race.

The ability to measure not only wind speed, but yaw as well, is one of the keys to the AeroPro's accuracy. Yaw effects your overall drag number and must be accounted for during aero testing. Without this essential data, your results cannot be guaranteed as reliable.

Beyond drag measurement, the AeroPro also allows us to calculate rolling resistance of your tires as well as changes to drivetrain resistance leading to further speed gains.

With all the hours of aero testing we conducted in the run up to the most recent Olympic Games in the wind tunnel, velodrome, and outdoors, it was the AeroLab sensor that proved most accurate in predicting performance. The key is, we’re not predicting, we’re measuring the real thing in real time.
